There's this vacant field right on the outskirts of the city, and I can't believe it's actually within the city limits. But it is--I checked a map. The train goes right through it, between a big hill and the shore. Nothing but discarded lumber, tin cans, and ugly weeds there now. I guess I expect all vacant lots in the city to be filled, all available spaces taken up. Otherwise, why is everything else in the city so close together? The one exception to this is parkland. But this is no park, just a wasteland for a train to travel through on its approach to the urban crush. Like some sort of Checkpoint Charlie between suburb and city.
